Description of Contract: This series of design/build projects resulted in a complete upgrade to the perimeter security systems for USP Atlanta. Separate phases of work had to be scheduled to maintain the high security levels of the institution while maintaining access to this fully operational institution. The scope of work for these projects breaks down as follows:
Phase I – Installation of a complete perimeter fence, including the installation of an “up-and-over” for the 55’ administration building.
Phase II – Installation of microphone and microwave motion detection to protect the perimeter.
Phase III – Construction of perimeter roadways to separate the security traffic from the operational traffic around the entire institution.
Phase IV – Installation of entire series of pan/tilt/zoom cameras and integration of these cameras and the related motion detection systems along with the upgrade of the existing control room, including a switch-over that was made in less than 48 hours.

Description of Contract: Provide for the complete construction of a multi-purpose maintenance facility. This included site development, construction of the facility and integration of the facility into the Institution’s security systems. Location and function of the building required the installation of several specialty items including detention grade hardware, vehicle lifts and welding stations. Also, the installation of a perimeter roadway was coordinated with construction so that access to the project was maintained for the entirety of the project.
