Documentation and Organization
At SheltonDean, we pride ourselves in our ability to
maintain the highest level of organization and professionalism in
all of our client interactions. We have the support and ability to
satisfy even the most stringent requirements related to the
documentation required on every project.
Everyone at SheltonDean
understands that the ability to perform a contract in the field is
nothing without the ability to successfully administrate that same
contract in the office.
The project administration systems in place are reliable and
consistent. They ensure that we provide the best client care
possible to all of our clients.
Our project managers
and contract administrators work together to see that all
requirements of a contract are met in a professional and timely
manner. Every client has their own set of expectations and the
SheltonDean team makes it a priority to see that those expectations
are exceeded.
Scheduling
Scheduling of projects is determined by current work levels and
client timeframes. Several scheduling software applications are used
including Microsoft Project and Primavera.
We understand that
throughout a construction project, there is one single piece of
information that everyone can understand, from contracting to
engineering to end users, and that is a schedule. Because of our
firm’s capabilities and experience, we are able to provide realistic
timelines for our clients.
Everyone at SheltonDean
understands the input necessary to make a schedule a success. Along
with experience, real and up-to-date information is used to build a
schedule. Information provided by the following has proved to be key
to our successful and dependable schedules:
- Clients
- End Users
- Suppliers
- Subcontractors
- Superintendents
The reliability of our
schedules allows them to function as road maps that our clients can
follow for each project. We are committed to keeping our clients
informed. Everyone expects that somewhere in the construction
process, an unavoidable delay will occur. We make it a top priority
to prevent any delays from affecting the contract end date. This is
done by responding to delays with “Recovery Schedules” that
acknowledge the delay but also rebuild the schedule to ensure the
end date is not compromised.
While we have advanced
scheduling software, we happily provide schedules in multiple
formats depending on the clients needs. From Gantt charts to simple
calendar layouts, we make sure that the schedule can be as useful a
tool to the client, as it is to our team.
Quality Control
We know that the best way to guarantee quality to a client is by
making the first question we ask, “How will you define
quality on this project?”
Once we identify what
quality is to those involved, we can operate based on those
guidelines and better satisfy the clients and end users. Our
approach includes quality procedures in the preconstruction phase,
commencement phase, and close-out phase of a contract. From start to
finish, we make sure we are meeting your needs and exceeding your
quality expectations.

Security
SheltonDean, Inc. works for various federal agencies that require
the highest levels of security. We understand the security
expectations and regulations of these agencies and happily abide by
all security guidelines.
Our project management staff follows the proper procedures to assure
that all subcontractors and laborers have passed an NCIC background
check if required on a project.
On site, our superintendents are kept abreast of security issues and
make adhering to these requirements a top priority.
Safety
We train each employee on general safety rules and procedures and
identify the necessary personal protective equipment requirements
before they ever step foot on a job site. Our internal procedures
exceed OSHA standards.
Our project managers
set as a high priority the attendance of all project related
SheltonDean employees for periodic safety meetings on each project.
During this meeting, an on-site safety audit is performed by the
designated superintendent assigned the responsibility of safety
control. All construction work sites are validated and scored
according to our corporate safety and quality control standards. The
results are posted for all employees to learn from and improve.
Record Keeping & Administrative
Procedures
We employ the accrual accounting method and utilize Timberline
accounting software. Our administrative staff and bookkeepers ensure
proficient daily operations, submitting monthly accounting summaries
and management reports.
Project supervisors are
also required to complete daily job and project completion reports.
As required by federal law, our records are maintained for five
years, in paper and electronic formats.
We pride ourselves in
our ability to produce and maintain the highest level of
organization and professionalism in all of the paperwork required
throughout each project.
